Bucharest, March 15, 2021: CEO Dacris received the „Professional of the Year” award at the European Office Products Awards (EOPA). Dacris is a company specialized in importing and distributing office supplies and related products.
Dan Fati, CEO, is the winner of the European Office Products Awards (EOPA), the most important distinction for the European office products and services market. Thus, Dan Fati was elected the business leader in the office supplies area with the most outstanding achievements, at European level, in 2020.
Unlike the previous years, when everything was held in a gala in Amsterdam, the winners of the 20th edition of the European Office Products Awards (EOPA) were nominated at a ceremony on Zoom at the end of last week.
Dan Fati, co-founder of Dacris, won the „Professional of the Year” award. The selection criteria for this category were professionalism, innovation, leadership skills and direct contribution to business development. CEO of Dacris scored the maximum score for each of these categories. „I feel honored to receive this distinction, especially in a year where I know, from my own experience, that all business leaders have made tremendous efforts to keep their companies afloat. Let’s make it happen, that was the motto of the previous year and in all the 27 years since we started Dacris. I am very glad that – in such a hard and demanding year for all of us – we have managed, first of all, to keep our more than 250 colleagues in Dacris healthy. This was a big win for us, because we were able to focus on motivating the team and making the hybrid way of working: office – home, more efficient,” said Dan Fati.
The European Office Products Awards (EOPA) are held annually by OPI, the largest global office supplies information, market research and analysis network, established in 1991.
„2020 has been an incredibly difficult year for so many. As such, the team at OPI was even more humbled by the enthusiasm shown yet again for the EOPA. I would like to sincerely thank the many companies for entering or nominating candidates, the judges for taking the time out of their no doubt busy schedules to evaluate those candidates and the winners for being part of our first-ever virtual awards ceremony. The EOPA are always a great reflection of an industry that refuses to be defeated by challenges – 2020 perhaps proved that more than any other year. I cannot wait to raise, when we’re allowed again, a glass in person to every single EOPA winner – to our whole resilient and fantastic industry in fact”, said Steve Hillheard, CEO of OPI.
What Dacris business meant in 2020
Just like the 2008 crisis, 2020 was a good year for Dacris to rethink the business model. “In March 2020 over 80% of people in office buildings started working from home, therefore our business was instantly affected. We were able to reposition ourselves immediately by expanding and diversifying our product portfolio. At the peak of the pandemic, there was an acute need for protection products, especially for our partners with people on the front line: food retailers, large stores, factories or bank subsidiaries. We have been able to purchase, sometimes with superhuman efforts, the anti-Covid products required on the market, in strict compliance with the certification laws. But the most important thing was to tell all our colleagues that we are together and we will come out of this difficult period. And, through them, let us give confidence to Dacris’s customers, suppliers and partners that we are present and together we find the best solutions. That’s why I’m so proud of what the Dacris team managed to achieve at a time when everything seemed impossible,” Dan Fati said.
Among the important decisions taken by CEO of Dacris in 2020 was also to increase storage capacity and relocation of warehouses from Otopeni to Mogosoaia. „We have made the decision to increase our storage capacity by moving to a modern warehouse to improve the quality of Dacris services. Then, we continued to invest in our digital business, to develop the categories of printing products, stationery, Janitory/Sanitary, Covid protection products, breakroom products, advertising products, furniture, IT, so that Dacris customers can find a large range of solutions for their needs”, completed Dacris’s CEO.
Thanks to these business decisions, Dacris achieved a turnover of 23 mil EUR at the end of 2020 and an EBIDTA in growth of 21% compared to 2019.
